The Health Department of Palm Beach County provided flu shots for 200 Bak students on Oct. 25.

This procedure should not be the solution for the world-wide virus spreading through schools.

According to the website NaturalHealth365.com “flu shot ineffectiveness is well-documented”.  The vaccine is created each year by guessing which strain [the exact genetic structure of the virus] will affect people the most that year.  The flu shot can cause side effects and you can still get sick from a different strain.  This means the flu shot is not a sure thing, but can also have negative effects on students.

Flu shots have also been linked to serious health issues.  According to BeWellBuzz.com, flu shots contain mercury, a known hazardous metal, that can cause health problems.

Critics may argue that the flu shot vaccine has helped prevent the flu, especially in young children, but multiple studies conducted on 260,000 children ages 23 months to six years showed no evidence that young children benefit.

There are many alternative and safer ways to prevent the flu. This can include simply better personal hygiene, versus having to get a possibly hazardous and ineffective vaccine.
