Bak Foundation wins award at county wide recognition ceremony

After all that the Foundation does for the teachers, students, and administration, it is only fitting that they get recognized for their hard work and dedication towards making this school a better place. This recognition happened at the annual Volunteer and Business Partner Awards Breakfast on May 4.

“I felt pure gratitude and shock! [when I heard we won these awards,]” Fran Mantyh, Foundation Chair, said.

One of the awards went to Mantyh, who won the gold award for Community Leader. She won the award for her hundreds of hours of service and constant dedication to the Foundation.

“To say I was thrilled is an understatement.  Not so much for the Foundation, but for our remarkable Chair who has dedicated the last ten years of her life to the betterment of Bak,” Susy Diaz, Foundation president, said.

The MSOA Foundation also won its own award at the breakfast for the work they do helping fund the technology and other educational resources at Bak.

Mantyh said, “For the Foundation to receive the Gold Level Award as a Partner in Education for the second time in three years is quite overwhelming.  I feel the work of the Foundation is finally being understood.”
