Grace Trainor, eighth grade theater major, sings with joy as she fills her role as Ida in the eighth grade theater performance, “Honk!” The theater performance started working on the show at the beginning of the year; working on choreography, songs, and scripts.

Inspired by Eliana Gerard’s talent, the dance majors mimic her movements. The students were taught to move freely and live everyday as a dancer. Hayden Pontius, seventh grade dance major, said, “This was the most fun class I have had in a long time. Eliana was so inspiring and talented.”

Arts and Academics Students use their voices to activate change

With a mixed emotion of excitement and disgust, Sophia Moorhead, seventh grade theater major, and Keon Allen, band major, dissect a bullfrog. During the dissection seventh graders learned background information on the frogs and got to dissect learning all the different parts of the frog.

Jaimee Stamile, ESE teacher, and Raveena Cherry, sixth grade strings major, volunteer with the Builder’s Club and Urban Youth Impact. The Builder’s Club paired with NJHS at a Christmas shop where kids got to participate in winter activities and parents got to shop for inexpensive Christmas gifts.
