It’s that time of year where people exchange gifts, families bond together, and lots of food is made and shared with family and friends. Here’s a Christmas recipe to add to your list.
Ingredients
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 ¼ cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup cocoa powder
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Line a 9×13 pan with parchment paper. It is recommended to spray it with nonstick spray so that the brownies don’t stick to the paper..
- Melt butter in the microwave for 1 minute.
- Mix the first ingredients in a bowl: Whisk melted butter, white sugar, brown sugar, 4 eggs cracked, and vanilla extract.
- After mixed in, add in these ingredients:
Add cocoa powder, flour, and salt. Stir until combined. Once finished, fold in chocolate chips.
- Pour into the pan and bake 22–28 minutes until the center is set but still fudgy.
- Cool completely
This is necessary for the triangles to cut smoothly.
- Once the brownie batch cools, cut into zigzags to form traingles.
Now your ready to decorate. You need these ingredients.
- Green icing
- M&Ms or sprinkles
- Mini candy cane trunks
8.Use the green icing to make zigzags on the brownies.
9. Put M&Ms along the zigzags. These appear as ornaments on the tree.
10. Stick candy canes on the bottom. These are the tree trunks.
Now your brownies are complete. I encourage you to try this recipe with your family and friends. Baking is one of many ways to bond with your loved ones during the holidays.
