Imagine, you’re a humble member of a space crew, leaving onboard. You try swiping a credit card in admin for the 50th time. Your day is going as expected, but then, you see it. A member of your crew Removed. You call a meeting and express your concern with the member of your crew, a past friend, brutally Taken Out. You look around… Red looks guilty. Blue stands up and he says one sentence, “There is an imposter Among Us.”
To put it another way, Among Us is a horror/thriller game where there is an imposter Removing your teammates. You can either be randomly selected to be a crewmate or an imposter. If you’re a crewmate, your goal is to complete your tasks, stay alive and catch the imposter.
However, if you are an imposter, your goal is to get rid of the crewmates. Whether you convince others to vote them off or Eliminate them. You can convince others to vote them off (or eject) them by saying they are sus. Sus is a shortened version of suspicious.
“I wish I knew that I could pretend to do tasks and make it seem like I am doing them because when I was playing for the first time, I got voted out first,” said sixth grade communications major Abigail Campbell.
When playing Among Us, a key part is the crewmate tasks. Crewmate tasks speed up the game’s time, lessening the imposter’s time to Remove crewmates. Whether you’re a crewmate or an imposter, there will be many tasks at your disposal.
Have fun playing the game, whatever role you play.
